The Stanislas private Catholic school continues to be at the center of debates. In full light since the declarations of the Minister of Education, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, on Friday, the elitist establishment in the 6th arrondissement of Paris has been controversial since the display of its internal and educational practices.
But since Monday evening, the machine has been racing with the revelation by Mediapart of the academic inspection report showing homophobic and sexist “abuses” and practices not in compliance with the law.
“This establishment puts students in danger”
It is in this context that the senator of Paris, Ian Brossat, the senator of Hauts-de-Seine, Pierre Ouzoulias, and the SOS Homophobia association announce that they are taking legal action by making a report to the Paris prosecutor, under Article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure which allows parliamentarians to report crimes and request sanctions.
“This establishment puts students in danger. It bears witness to elements which have undeniable consequences on the psychological health of children. We discover the whole mechanism that pushes LGBT children to commit suicide,” declares Ian Brossat.
Significant public funding
In addition to the report, the three parties announce that they will contact the Paris prefect to request the deconvention of the high school and thus refer the matter to the administrative court. As Ian Brossat recalls, the report released highlights teachings which spread homophobic ideas likely to result in criminal convictions. “Abortion is systematically condemned in SVT classes, the school promotes conversion therapies which are now illegal, and on rape, people are asked to “forgive the rapists”. » All this during compulsory school time.
“Public money finances the Lycée Stanislas with 2 million euros per year and 73% of its teachers’ salaries to tell children that “homosexuality is an illness”, that “abortion is bad” and that “chemical” contraception is dangerous. This is not acceptable,” explains Ian Brossat who deplores that “the worst of separatism is protected and financed”, given the refusal of the Ministry of Education to make this report public since last August.
The former deputy to the Paris City Hall also recalls that the Ile-de-France region, which does not have jurisdiction, pays very significant subsidies to the establishment every year, as in 2023, with a payment of 487,000 euros for the repair of an elevator. An element to be compared to the very significant registration fees in this establishment which generated 22 million euros in turnover in 2022 and 3 million in gross operating surplus according to elected officials.
“We don’t fight separatism by feeding it! », adds the Senator from Paris who calls for the withdrawal of the agreement of association under contract with the “delinquent” establishment which “tramples the Republic”.
The parties also indicate that these procedures will hold the government “to account”.
