Justice Minister Lambrecht sees no obstacles for the controversial Hamburg 2G model. Among other things, this enables innkeepers to only allow entry to those who have been vaccinated or have recovered. In Hamburg, the regulation applies from Saturday.
The Federal Minister of Justice Christine Lambrecht (SPD) believes that the introduction of new corona rules in Hamburg is unproblematic. If, for example, restaurateurs will only allow vaccinated and convalescents in their restaurants in the future, house rights will be exercised, said the minister in the Morning magazine from ARD and ZDF.
In the pandemic, restaurateurs have so far been severely affected by restrictions. When applying the so-called 2G regulation, there is a chance of less risk of infection in restaurants, according to Lambrecht.
Hamburg: 2G rule as an option from Saturday
The 2G model is controversial and is an option for restaurants, cultural organizers and religious communities, among others. After registering with the authorities, you can make offers for vaccinated and genesis only and refuse unvaccinated access despite a negative corona test. Under these conditions, distance specifications, participant restrictions and registration requirements do not apply.
As of Saturday, Hamburg will be the first federal state to introduce the special rules for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. Congregation singing without a mask would then also be possible in church services. So far, church visitors have been able to access church services in Hamburg without a vaccination card, proof of recovery or test. However, different requirements apply to this.
Concert promoter for nationwide regulation
The President of the Federal Association of the Concert and Event Industry, Jens Michow, welcomed the 2G option. The association had previously called for uniform nationwide rules for the event industry.
“We hope that the Hamburg 2G model is a blueprint for all other federal states,” Michow told the dpa news agency. As long as there are capacity restrictions and distance rules, events make no economic sense.
