Justice cancels the deliberation which frames the right to strike in schools

It was one of the key decisions of the mayor of Marseille Benoît Payan in the face of repeated strikes in the schools of the Marseille city. According Provencethe administrative court of Marseille, seized by several unions, canceled the deliberation of the municipal council which framed the right to strike in schools.

In its judgement, the court justifies this decision in particular by the lack of knowledge of the procedures for exercising the right to strike. The city of Marseille has also condemned the municipality to pay the sum of 1,500 euros to the unions. In a press release, the town hall announces that it is appealing this decision.
