The cult band ABBA has released another song as part of their comeback. “Just A Notion” is the title.

ABBA have released the third single from the new album, “Just A Notion”. “Voyage” will be released on November 5th on Universal Music. With “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down” there were already two singles for the fans.

Piece comes from the 70s

Björn Ulvaeus (76) explains about the creation of “Just A Notion”: “On Wikipedia you can read that this song was originally recorded in September 1978, which should be about right.” This would have created the piece between “ABBA – the Album” (1977) and “Voulez-Vous” (1979) “and would have ended up on the latter if we hadn’t decided against it at the time,” says the musician.

He no longer knows why the piece was left out at the time: “Looking back, I have to say that I have no clue. It’s a great song with great vocal parts. I remember that we’d give it to a publisher in France and a few others Showed people we trusted, and if I’m not mistaken, they all thought this song was great. In that sense, it’s a mystery – and it will probably remain a mystery. ” Benny Andersson (74) recorded a new arrangement “to which we added drums and guitars – the vocal recordings are all the original parts from 1978”, Björn Ulvaeus reveals.

Comeback with album and shows

At the beginning of September, the four members of ABBA – Agnetha Fältskog (71), Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (75) – announced their big comeback after a break of almost 40 years. In addition to the new album, the Swedes also promised a “groundbreaking, innovative concert experience”: ABBA’s digital avatars will be shown in the specially designed “ABBA Arena” in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. The premiere is on May 27, 2022.

ABBA is considered to be one of the most successful bands in pop history. Her biggest hits include “Waterloo”, “Mamma Mia” and “Dancing Queen”. In 1983 the Swedes took a break. Her last studio album “The Visitors” was released in 1981.
