A general secretary has to be present, that’s part of the job profile, especially during an election campaign. In this respect, the decision taken by the party youth of the Bavarian SPD is likely to be a one-time step. According to research by Süddeutsche Zeitung the state board of the Jusos decided in autumn to exclude SPD General Arif Taşdelen from all events. Juso country chief Kilian Maier confirmed this on Wednesday when asked. The reason for the decision: According to Maier, several young women had reported to the board that Taşdelen had behaved inappropriately towards them. In Juso circles, there is talk of intrusive questions about cell phone numbers, and attempts to contact them via text messages or on social media platforms have also been perceived as annoying by women. As far as we know, none of the allegations is relevant under criminal law.
