Football coach Jürgen Klopp has a new friend for life: a cameraman. The TV employee saved the Liverpool FC coach from a desperate situation.

Jürgen Klopp had two reasons to be happy on Monday: his club, Liverpool FC, won 4-2 against Newcastle United in the Premier League and a TV employee saved the 56-year-old from a real emergency.

In the enthusiastic celebration of the victory, the German soccer coach lost his wedding ring, the Associated Press (AP) news agency reported. However, an attentive cameraman spotted the ring in the middle of the field.

Klopp reacted with delight to the quick find in front of the Sky Sports television camera – and kissed the piece of jewelry. “I had a huge shock. But he’s back,” said the 56-year-old, calling the cameraman a “friend for life.”

Jürgen Klopp had already lost his wedding ring once

By winning a dominant game with numerous missed scoring opportunities, Liverpool had extended their lead in the English football championship to three points ahead of their pursuers Aston Villa. After the final whistle, Klopp congratulated his players on the pitch and then went to the fans to applaud. He noticed that the ring was missing. His immediate search of the grass around his location was unsuccessful, although Klopp also asked a steward to help him.

Only the cameraman released the coach from his desperate situation. “Oh my God, that would have been really terrible,” said a relieved Klopp. “I lost him once in my life – I needed a professional diver because it was in the sea,” Klopp reported. “I’ve been grateful to the man all my life,” said Klopp. “Every now and then, when I lose a kilo or two, it no longer fits.”
