On the Scandinavian TV channel Viaplay Klopp was asked by a journalist after the final whistle why his team had problems bringing the usual intensity of Liverpool’s game onto the pitch in extra time.
“That’s a stupid question,” Klopp replied, pointing out to the reporter how many games Liverpool had already played this season. “I’m very disappointed with this question. But obviously you thought it was a good one,” the German coach then added.
After a few moments of silence, the reporter started to ask another question, but Klopp took the wind out of his sails. “You’re obviously not in good shape,” he told him in exasperation, then broke off the interview and left.
Klopp’s Reds were initially behind against United early on shortly before half-time it turned into a 2-1 lead.
