Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspurs split 2-2 after a thrilling game. However, two referee decisions on the pitch caused trouble – especially with coach Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur separated in a wild duel 2-2 at the weekend. For coach Jürgen Klopp, however, there were two game-changing scenes in which the referee and the video assistant (Var) were wrong or did not intervene. That was the case with a rude foul by Tottenham attacker Harry Kane on Andrew Robertson, for which you could also have shown red. In addition, the Var did not intervene when Liverpool striker Diego Jota was knocked over in the penalty area and the penalty whistle failed to materialize.

The referee’s decisions made Klopp angry. After the final whistle, he complained clearly to the referee. “I have no problems with other referees, only with you,” said the Liverpool team manager. “You never played football,” Klopp continued, “otherwise you would know that you can’t get a penalty.”

Jürgen Klopp also sees yellow

Klopp also complained about the yellow card he saw himself: “I was a bit more emotional in the game, but isn’t that allowed in such a situation? He comes to me and gives me the yellow card. I would have preferred it that he makes the right decisions on the pitch. I don’t know what problem he has with me, “he said.

In a gripping duel, Liverpool turned the game around after Kane conceded a goal (13th minute) with goals from Jota (35th) and Robertson (69th). But the former HSV striker Heung-Min Son used a mistake by Alisson to equalize (74th). With the loss of points, Liverpool are now four points behind leaders Manchester City. Many games were canceled this weekend because there are corona infections in numerous teams.
