Disappointed, Lucas Cordalis had to return home from South Africa to Mallorca a few days ago. The jungle camp adventure was over for him before it even began: Shortly before it started on TV, the Katzenberger husband tested positive for Corona. So hopefully the bush adventure beckons in 2023…
And in the meantime? Lucas will show himself to all fans next month. For a series he breathes life back into his father!
Lucas Cordalis (54) plays his father, cult singer Coasta Cordalis († 75, “Anita”), who died in 2019, in “Der König von Palma” (from February 24 on RTL +).

How did the role come about? Lucas Cordalis to BILD: “I had the pleasure of playing in a series in the summer. And the big hit, of course, was that I got a role that was totally extraordinary – because I got to play my father. I was then made up like that.”
How did it feel playing your own father? “I was actually scared after the mask when I looked in the mirror. And I Facetimed my mom and she almost passed out.”

What is the series about? Inspired by reality, the story tells of Mallorca’s rise to become a mecca for mass tourism shortly after the fall of the wall and reunification.
Behind the scenes of the multi-million dollar business, the profiteers on Playa del Palma fought with the toughest bandages in the 1990s – and did not shy away from violence.
Showrunner and author Johannes Kunkel (36) to BILD: “Lucas Cordalis had the idea of playing his father. We hadn’t even thought of this variant at the beginning, but we were in contact with the music rights with Lucas.”
Kunkel continues: “When we saw Lucas on the set, we were very happy about the decision. He did great. In the end we had tears in our eyes because the strenuous Corona period was almost forgotten during the live performance of ‘Anita’.”
