There were only seven left: Heinz Hoenig unexpectedly left the jungle camp. Apparently health reasons played a role.

The actor Heinz Hoenig ended his time in the jungle camp early on Tuesday and moved out. As RTL reports, health reasons played a role. “The jungle camp is a strenuous challenge for everyone. It took almost two weeks Heinz Hoenig beaten excellently. Our medical team decided today to take him out of the camp as a precautionary measure. “Heinz Hoenig is doing well, he is with his family,” the broadcaster said in a statement.

The 72-year-old was really looking forward to his family – Hoenig is a father of four and has two small children from his second marriage. Just recently, he hugged one of his children’s pillows around the campfire and talked about how much he missed them.

Hoenig was considered the top star in this year’s jungle camp. He celebrated his greatest triumph to date at an early stage in his career: He suddenly became known as radio mate Hinrich in Wolfang Petersen’s “Das Boot”. In contrast to many other actors from the hit film, Hoenig used fame as a basis for his future career. The actor was particularly able to shine in Dieter Wedel’s TV series.

RTL will show everything else about Heinz Hoenig’s excerpt tonight, 10:15 p.m., on “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” – and in the live stream on RTL+.

Transparency note: The star is part of RTL Germany.
