He has already landed in South Africa: Harald Glööckler is one of twelve candidates who will take part in the jungle camp in 2022. A year ago, the broadcaster RTL announced that the extroverted fashion designer on “I’m a star – get me out of here!” will be there. the star introduces the candidates.

Known by: his quirky looks and extravagant fashion. Glööckler, who makes no secret of his cosmetic surgery and his toupee, loves the big entrance. His glittering creations made him the darling of many stars in the 90s. Despised by Karl Lagerfeld, loved by women on shopping TV. He moderated his sales shows himself – and thus became known throughout Germany.

The fashion designer started small. First as a salesman in a men’s shop, then with his own shop. At the age of six he already knew that he was gay, says Glööckler. But he became more and more interested in women’s clothing. “I wanted to make everyone a princess.” He successfully implemented this principle. Glööckler was anything but born with success. His mother died when he was 14 years old. He claims his father provoked a fall down the stairs. He never spoke to his father again until his death. As a teenager, Glööckler trained in the gym. His muscles should be his armor. Meeting Harald Schroth was Glööckler’s greatest fortune. The two are not only professional partners, but a loving couple and have been married since 2015.
The biggest success:
Glööckler has made itself and its appearance a brand. His likeness is known throughout Germany. He is a master of self-promotion. It doesn’t matter what he designs, whether jewelry for a discounter or wallpaper for the hardware store, it’s a success. His label Pompöös (that was also the name of his first men’s shop in Stuttgart) is known throughout Germany.

“The jungle camp. That could probably shock me or push me to my limits,” says Harald Glööckler. He wants to show facets of his personality in South Africa that many viewers do not yet know. His fans can be excited. And his haters may get to know Glööckler from a whole new perspective.
Trivia:
- Glööckler doesn’t take any deodorant with him into the jungle. In order not to stink, he had his armpits botoxed. This is to prevent excessive perspiration.
- Not his partner, but his fitness coach David Münch accompanies the fashion designer. With him he prepared intensively for the TV show
- Glööckler leaves his wigs at home. The viewers see him in the jungle camp with a bald head.
- The 56-year-old lives in a secluded villa in the Palatinate. He hoards supplies in the basement – for emergencies: Glööckler is a prepper.
- He himself says about his addiction to cosmetic surgery: “I’m a walking spare parts store.”
“I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” starts on January 21st. Because of the pandemic and the entry conditions to Australia, the German branch of the show is taking place in South Africa for the first time. Since there is only a time difference of one hour, Sonja Zietlow and Daniel Hartwich will welcome the audience in the tree house in the evening.
