Two goals in quick succession from Kalimuendo (35′, 41′), a double goal for Amine Gouiri after returning from the locker room (47′) and a sixth goal at the end of the match (82′) from Benjamin Bourigeaud put an end to the ordeal Lion Cubs. Malcolm Viltard saved the honor on the hour mark.
To sum up
Stade Rennais takes on FC Sochaux after a demonstration (6-1) and offers itself the dream of a new coronation in the Coupe de France with this qualification in the quarter-finals. FC Sochaux, for their part, will not have been unworthy but the difference in level was too significant.
