Judith Rakers has stood for the since 2005 daily News in front of the camera. Tonight she speaks her last 8 p.m. show. At her own request, she is now swapping the news studio for a vegetable patch and chicken coop.
After 19 years at the daily News Judith Rakers will be there one last time this evening at 8 p.m daily News speak. After that, she wants to focus on her own entrepreneurial projects.
“It’s time to focus my life on other projects, to further expand my entrepreneurial activities and to tackle new things for which there hasn’t been enough time in addition to the news shift,” she said.

In addition to the television studio, Rakers has been mainly found in her own garden for years, writing books about, among other things, growing vegetables and producing sustainable products under her own brand.
What she likes most about living in the country is “walking barefoot through the still-damp grass to the chicken coop in the morning and picking up the freshly laid eggs from the nests while the chickens happily gallop towards me,” she said in an interview with MR. “When you can water the beds again in the evening, when you can dig in the soil, when you can let something grow – when you are surrounded by the sounds of nature instead of telephone noises.”
