“Tagesschau” spokeswoman Judith Rakers has spoken out against her principles on the political situation in Ukraine.
As a newsreader for the “Tagesschau”, Judith Rakers (46) should keep her political opinion to herself and remain publicly neutral. She made an exception on Instagram and wrote emotional lines about the war in Ukraine.
The journalist lets her emotions run wild with a picture of herself at work. Objectivity is a valuable asset and she thinks the claim to neutrality is correct. That’s why she would focus on social media “on the beautiful things in life”. Her feed is full of pictures from her fertile garden, her chickens and the like – a good mood is guaranteed.
Moderator finds clear words
Nevertheless, the newsreader now makes it clear: “Since I had only bad news for you again this morning on the early shift, I would like to make it clear that this is not easy for me.” The fear of the people would also affect you. Her statement on the situation: “This madness has to stop.”
The “Tagesschau” (Das Erste) at 8 p.m. is the most successful news program on German television. Judith Rakers has been in front of the camera since 2005.
