She defended him resolutely last year: Now comedian Joyce Ilg celebrated Easter with Luke Mockridge. For a photo of the two, she posts a joke about rape – and offends with it.

Humor is known to be a matter of taste, but with her latest post comedian Joyce Ilg seems to have succeeded less in a joke than in a clear dig. For a photo of herself and Luke Mockridge, she wrote: “Did any of you find eggs here? I only got a few KO drops.” An allusion to the allegations against Mockridge and his own stage jokes, in which he often addressed knockout drops.

It didn’t take long before the first users commented on the posting in an extremely critical manner. “Can you ever add a rape joke,” wrote one user. Another went a step further, commenting, “Nope sorry but I don’t like posts posing with rapists.”

After allegations of rape by his ex-girlfriend Ines Anioli, Luke Mockridge withdrew from the public last year, but he is now back on stage. He has already used the allegations for jokes – to the displeasure of his critics. Anioli also became aware of Ilg’s posting and posted a statement on her channel. “Some people are just boundlessly insensitive and use their reach for tasteless KO drop jokes,” she wrote, apologizing to all people who have ever fallen victim to such drops.

Author Jasmina Kuhnke also took up Ilg’s posting. “You can take your picture with whoever you want, fair enough… but then making fun of victims of sexualized violence – KO drops – is a snuff too much for me personally,” she wrote Twitter and added that the caption could hardly be explained with humor. “And no, it’s not about gags… because, as a pro, I like to reveal: there’s no gag… it’s just a cheap dig. If you want to make a gag about it: try harder!”

Last year, Ilg Mockridge had already tried to defend and appealed to the people. “Press, social media. What it means for a person when it all hits him. Luke has had this issue for a very long time. This is also due to the fact that no judgment has been passed and the matter is not absolutely clear,” she said in a video.

And what Easter message does Mockridge have for his social media subscribers? The comedian also posted the photo with his colleague, writing: “Found the largest in the scene looking for eggs.”
