Screen comeback in the new “Karate Kid” film

After almost ten years without a cinema project, Joshua Jackson will be seen on the screen again in 2024 – in a new “Karate Kid” film.
Joshua Jackson (45) is coming back to the big screen. After almost ten years without a film project, the former “Dawson’s Creek” star will appear in the new “Karate Kid” film, reports the “Hollywood Reporter”.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters at the end of the year and is described as a “coming of age martial arts” film. It’s about a teenager from China who finds strength and guidance on the American East Coast “through a tough but wise mentor and martial arts,” it says. The main role is played by Ben Wang (24), known from the Disney+ series “American Born Chinese”. Jackie Chan (69) and Ralph Macchio (62) should also be seen, as was announced a few months ago.
The script was written by Rob Lieber (48) and directed by Jonathan Entwistle (39), who is known for his work on “The End of the F***ing World”. The new “Karate Kid” film is scheduled to be released on December 13th.
Joshua Jackson’s projects: Numerous series, no films
It is not yet known which role Joshua Jackson will take on – but according to information from the “Hollywood Reporter” he will play one of the main characters. The last time Jackson was seen in a film was in 2015 in “Sky: The Heaven in Me” alongside Norman Reedus (55) and Diane Kruger (47). After that, he mainly attracted attention with series, including “The Affair”, “Little Fires Everywhere” and “A Fatal Affair”.
Most recently, Jackson was in the headlines because of his love life: In October, his wife Jodie Turner-Smith (37) filed for divorce, according to US media reports. Jackson and Turner-Smith met in 2018 and married in 2019. A few months later, their daughter was born, for whom they will now share custody. as People reported.
Jackson apparently already has a new love: In December he appeared in public hand in hand with Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (41).
