This evening with the Munich Chamber Orchestra in the Prinzregententheater is packed with events. The 50th birthday of composer Jörg Widmann, who will also conduct the concert and whose work features in the first half of the program, will be celebrated. Widmann conducts with primordial gestures. It goes wonderfully with his concert overture “Con brio”: Certainly, he smuggled some quiet details into his score, but above all this is music with striking effects, which the chamber orchestra succeeds in with fabulous precision.
