Cult presenter Jörg Draeger mourns his mother Hertha. She died on Monday at the age of 100 in Berlin.
Jörg Draeger (76) mourns the loss of his mother Hertha “Heddi” Draeger. She died on Monday at the age of 100 in Berlin, as the cult presenter announced on Tuesday. In an Instagram story, he shared an obituary notice: “Today, Monday, December 20th, 2021 at 13:51, Heddi, our mom, mother-in-law, grandma and Bärbel’s best friend fell asleep at the age of 100. In silent mourning, the Draeger and Bärbel Nell family.”
There is also a photo of the smiling Heddi Draeger in a restaurant that was taken on the occasion of his 76th birthday on September 28th.
“Even if 100 years is a great age, death came completely unexpected”, explained Jörg Draeger to the “Bild” newspaper. “The day before, she was still playing skat with friends, was still healthy and mentally fit,” he added, and continued: “She just fell asleep peacefully.” His latest post in the Insta feed three days ago shows the two of them and his mother-in-law playing skat. “In our family we are all gamers, including the two wonderful grandmas,” he commented on the photo.
Big 100th birthday party
At the beginning of September, the family and friends celebrated their milestone birthday. “The little mother was an incredible 100 years old. Years of fear and war but also love and joy. And all of us, the entire family, are incredibly grateful to be able to share this time with you,” wrote Jörg Draeger at the time to a series of photos and videosshowing the two of them and their party party celebrating.
She also witnessed his comeback with his previous hit show. Since November 26th there has been a new edition of “Go on the whole” on Sat.1, hosted by Draeger together with Daniel Boschmann (41). “My mom watched my TV comeback with ‘Go all out’ with enthusiasm,” he said now.
And vice versa, he had accompanied her activities on the social media platform TikTok. She had been active there for half a year. Among other things, there is a video clip from the aforementioned birthday dinner of the moderator, in which she congratulates him. “oma-heddi” had more than 16,5000 followers.
