Jonathann Daval, who is serving a twenty-five-year prison sentence for the murder of his wife Alexia in 2017, is summoned to appear by his ex-in-laws for slanderous denunciation, the latter’s lawyer said on Saturday. Jonathann Daval strangled his wife Alexia on the night of October 27 to 28, 2017 at their home in Gray-la-Ville (Haute-Saône). The next day, he transported his body to a wood before setting it on fire and sounding the alarm, claiming that his wife had not returned from her jogging. Alexia’s body was found two days later. For three months, Jonathann Daval had shown the face of a grieving widower in the media, before being confused, in the midst of the #MeToo wave.
Six months of lies
“What we blame are these six months of lies where Jonathann Daval accuses Grégory Gay of having killed Alexia with the complicity of his in-laws,” said Me Jean-Hubert Portejoie.
If he is found guilty of this new head, the murderer of Alexia Daval faces five years in prison.
