Jonas Kaufmann, one of the world’s greatest tenors, will musically honor Franz Beckenbauer. On Friday he will perform at the Allianz Arena.
Next Friday, January 19th, the big memorial service in honor of the late Franz Beckenbauer (1945-2024) will take place in Munich’s Allianz Arena from 3 p.m. Like the organizing club FC Bayern Munich now announced on its official club website, star tenor Jonas Kaufmann (54) will also be there and give the football emperor a worthy musical setting for the farewell.
The Munich native, who is one of the most famous tenors in the world, will perform a total of three pieces, including “Time To Say Goodbye” in the Italian version “Con te partirò” at the beginning of the event. In a statement he told the record champions about his commitment: “It is an honor for me to be able to contribute to this unique memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer.”
He grew up in Munich and has been a fan of FC Bayern since his childhood. In his eyes, Beckenbauer is the greatest personality of the club and of German football as a whole. The emperor is unrivaled both as an athlete and as a person. Tickets for the memorial service are currently still available on the Bayern homepage. The tickets are free.
