The US pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson is preparing a change at the top of its board. Long-time chairman Alex Gorsky will vacate the post on January 3, 2022 and become executive chairman of the company’s board of directors, Johnson & Johnson announced on Thursday. His successor was Joaquin Duato, who like Gorsky has worked for the group for over three decades and has long been a top management. Duato is currently the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of Johnson & Johnson. He should also move into the administrative board, which is superordinate to the executive board. Gorsky, who has been at the helm since 2012, stated in the announcement that he wanted to give up the chairmanship for “family health reasons”.
