An e-mail was read in the court case between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. She reveals that Depp has had interpersonal issues with his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny Depp’s relationships don’t seem to be blessed. In the current court case between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, an email has now been read confirming that Depp had also come down on his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis had a marriage-like relationship for 14 years. From 1998 to 2012, the actors were a couple. Depp and Paradis have two children together, Lily-Rose Melody Depp, now 22, and John Christopher Depp III, who is 20. The reason for the separation in 2012 is said to have been none other than Amber Heard. Heard then married Depp in 2015. However, the couple divorced in 2017. Since then, the ex-husbands have repeatedly fought each other in court.
Now, in the current trial in which Heard and Depp are suing each other for defamation, an email was read out. Written by Johnny Depp, recipient Sir Elton John. In the e-mail, which was littered with swear words and the 58-year-old rants about his ex-girlfriend Paradis, he describes the mother of his children as, among other things, a “French blackmailer”. The mail was read out by Heard’s lawyer Rottenborn.
Separation from Paradis led him to alcoholism
This piece of evidence was primarily intended to prove that Johnny Depp was said to have had a problem with drugs even back then. In a past lawsuit by ex-couple Heard and Depp in 2020, the actor admitted that breaking up with Paradis was a “painful time” and that he “most likely tried to self-numb.”
Depp told the court in 2020 that he had abused alcohol after Paradis split, but denied using drugs at the time. The alcohol abuse must have been so severe that he also spoke about a liver problem. Rottenborn then read out the email exchange Depp had with Elton John in July 2013, in which the actor wrote that his children “fell head over heels for Amber.” Depp also said in the email that the “pressure is off my shoulders”. He then tells Elton in the email about the “French blackmailer” who tried to “brainwash” his children. Johnny Depp admitted that this statement referred to Vanessa Paradis.
