Honeymoons are usually the highlight of love for couples, but Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reportedly had a falling out early on. The actor’s bodyguard reports facial injuries.

Johnny Depp’s bodyguard Malcolm Connolly testified in court on Thursday. He accompanied the ex-couple on their honeymoon. Suddenly he noticed “scratches and swellings” on the actor’s face. The mood shifted from “happy and in love” to “calm and grumpy”.

Malcolm Connolly was there live when the newly wed marriage began to crack. The couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are said to have increasingly argued on their honeymoon. Shortly after the marriage certificate was signed, Amber Heard is said to have changed. According to the security guard, she is said to have become “more demanding and resolute”.

Connolly took the stand on Thursday and said in court he had never seen the two engage in physical violence against each other, but that he noticed “bruises and scratches” on Depp’s face. The jury was shown a photo of Depp and Heard on their honeymoon on the Orient Express from Bangkok to Singapore. Connolly said he recorded it himself, noting that Depp had a puffiness under his eye. He wryly stated on the witness stand when asked about the cause of the injury: “He ran into a door or a door ran into him.”

The couple argued more and yelled at each other. The bodyguard mostly heard Amber Heard screaming and yelling. “She wanted to wear the pants in the relationship,” Connolly assumed. The more Heard screamed, the quieter and grumpier Johnny Depp became.

After some time, he noticed injuries on Depp’s face, mostly on the left side of the face. “It became more regular. Not every week, but it definitely happened,” he added.
