Johnny Depp is coming to Munich. You read that right. Four years ago, when the celebrated actor performed with his band Hollywood Vampires at the Tollwood Summer Festival, one could hardly believe one’s eyes and ears. His fame seemed too great for the casual tent city in the southern Olympic Park.

Well, a sensational and dirty trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp later, the new announcement seems even more bizarre: Can it really be that one of the currently most well-known people on this planet, who is controversial in court despite his victory, that this man is a few weeks after the defamation verdict in the USA in the music arena at the Ackermannbogen unpacked the guitar and sang “Ooo Baby Baby”? Apparently yes.

Because it’s like this: The fact that the US star, born in 1963, was on stage with his buddy, the British music hero Jeff Beck, from time to time during his lengthy trial was a kind of prelude to the European tour that is now beginning new album “18”. Depp and Beck cover rock, pop and soul numbers, including hits by John Lennon and the Beach Boys as well as that “baby” number from The Miracles.

Two concerts in Germany are planned: in Frankfurt and in Munich. Tollwood announced the “Extraordinary Night” for Wednesday, July 13th. Tickets are available now. By the way, there are also original songs by Johnny Depp: “This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr” and a piece called “Sad Motherfuckin’ Parade”. That can be fun.
