John Neumeier “Lady of the Camellias” Moscow – The Last Connection – Culture

John Neumeier, who has headed the Hamburg Ballet for 50 years, has just ended his anniversary season. The highlight was the annual “Nijinsky Gala” in the State Opera, this time with exceptional guests: the ensemble of the Taras Shevchenko Opera House in Kiev danced a piece by the host. Months ago, Neumeier had decided to leave the 1994 choreographed opus “Spring and Fall” to the war-torn ensemble. And for free. Two of his Hamburg ballet masters traveled to the Ukraine to study the choreography with the dancers on site. The Hamburg gala performance was a complete success: applause without end.
