Johannes Vogel, 39, has an hour before he has to go to the meeting of the council of elders. He is now a member, as the newly elected First Parliamentary Managing Director of the FDP parliamentary group. On the table in the Jakob-Kaiser-Haus is an espresso machine, next to it a pack of oat milk, which will later play a role. Vogel came to the Bundestag in 2009, just in the legislative period at the end of which his party would be kicked out of parliament. He spent the time of the extra-parliamentary opposition as head of the Wuppertal-Solingen employment agency before returning to the Bundestag in 2017. So it’s high time to talk about advancement.
