Joe Biden’s blunder by reading (a little too much) his teleprompter

The teams of the President of the United States, however, deny it.

The President of the United States is already used to gaffes in front of the cameras. On Friday night, while giving a speech on abortion, Joe Biden would have a little too much “glueto the text of his teleprompter by reading an incise concerning the substance rather than the form.

At one point in this speech immortalized by the cameras, we hear the American president pronounce aloud the instruction “repeat line» («repeat the line“, in English) before continuing by repeating, indeed, a quote pronounced a few seconds earlier.

Joe Biden’s teams, however, deny it. Emilie Simons, assistant to the spokesperson for the White House, thus assured that Joe Biden would have actually pronounced “let me repeat the line”or, in French, “let me repeat the line”. If we don’t hear these two words “let me”, the final script of the speech in question, published by the White House, does indeed mention these two words, which then changes the meaning of the sentence. Joe Biden would have finally only forgotten two words of the script and not read an instruction by mistake.

An embarrassed explanation which however did not convince the opponents of the Democratic president.
