US President Joe Biden has just traveled to Utah. A man is said to have published threats against the Democrat shortly before the visit – and has now been shot by the police.

The FBI shot dead a man in Utah, the President Joe Biden is said to have threatened shortly before his visit to the state. The man was killed on Wednesday morning (local time) by a special task force during a house search, the broadcasters NBC and CNN reported, among others. He pointed a gun at the officers, CNN reported, citing a law enforcement source familiar with the incident.

Mann is said to have threatened other Democrats in addition to Biden

According to court documents, the man previously posted threats on social media against Biden and other Democratic politicians, as well as prosecutors who have filed cases against former President Donald Trump. Accordingly, he wrote, among other things, that he would dust off his sniper rifle in view of the President’s visit. In a post Monday, he posted, “Hey FBI, are you still monitoring my social media? Checking this out so I have a loaded gun in case you guys come by again.”

The man faced three federal charges, including threatening the President and influencing, obstructing and retaliating against federal law enforcement officials by threatening them. Investigators found that he appeared to be in possession of a sniper rifle and several other firearms.

“The FBI is investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at approximately 6:15 a.m. in Provo, Utah,” a police spokesman told CNN. “The incident began when special agents attempted to execute arrest and search warrants at an apartment building. The individual is deceased.”

Biden traveled to Utah on Wednesday evening (local time). This Thursday he wants to speak in Salt Lake City about health care for veterans.
