In early January, Tariq Habash resigned from his position as a senior advisor at the US Department of Education. Habash was personally appointed by President Joe Biden. He comes from Ohio and is American with Palestinian roots. Habash justified his resignation with Biden’s unconditional support for Israel. He said he always knew that the president was firmly on Israel’s side, but he had hoped that Biden would at some point realize that a change of perspective was needed in the current conflict.
