Jodie Foster can do without superhero films. She only likes a few of them, as the actress has now revealed.

Jodie Foster (61) is apparently one of the Hollywood stars who are not the biggest fans of superhero films. In an interview with Elle, the Oscar winner explained that she feels like Marvel and DC films are just “a phase.”

“It’s a phase that took a little too long for me, but it is a phase, and I’ve seen so many different phases,” she said. “Hopefully people will get tired of it soon. I admire the good films like ‘Iron Man’, ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Matrix’ and am carried away by the entertainment.”

Jodie Foster added in the interview: “But that’s not why I became an actress. And these films don’t change my life. Hopefully there’s room for everything else.” The 61-year-old is not the first star to speak negatively about superhero flicks. Star directors Francis Ford Coppola (84), Martin Scorsese (81) and John Woo (77), among others, have already expressed their displeasure with this in the past.

This is Jodie Foster’s favorite film

Jodie Foster also told “Elle” what kind of films she loves. “Everything Everywhere All at Once” may forever remain her favorite film, she said. She explained that this is a movie that she watches over and over again when she feels depressed or sad. The film also connects her with her two sons.

“I saw him for the first time with one of my sons, and we held hands, pinched each other and cried for 45 minutes afterward,” she said. “And then a week later I saw him with my other son and it just opened a portal of connection and understanding and hope. He started telling me everything about his high school that he had never told me, and we left crying and talking openly through the rain. And I thought, ‘This is what movies can do.'”

Jodie Foster has two Oscars

Jodie Foster is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. She has already won the Oscar for Best Actress twice: in 1989 for “The Accused” and in 1992 for “The Silence of the Lambs.” Will there be another golden boy coming soon? She is currently being celebrated alongside Annette Bening (65) for her role in the Netflix film “Nyad”.
