As “Sport BILD” revealed this week, the name Joao Felix on Säbener Straße was discussed. Even if the Portuguese would be an interesting option for Munich from a purely sporting point of view, the Bayern bosses have rejected the idea. Reason: FCB cannot financially support a Felix transfer this summer.
According to club boss Oliver Kahn, Bayern have a “precisely defined transfer planning process that also defines the budget.” Felix is currently not part of this process.
Bayern focus is on de Ligt, Laimer and Tel
It is interesting: Even if Atletico paid almost 130 million euros for Felix in the summer of 2019, the Spaniards would apparently be willing to give it up for significantly less money. “BILD” football boss Christian Falk commented as follows: “The name João Felix was actually discussed at Bayern. The player is of course interesting. But internally it is agreed that the transfer is currently not financially viable, since Atlético should call at least 70 million,” he told “FCBinside”.
According to Falk, the Munich team is focusing on other players who they definitely want to sign this summer: “At Bayern, the personal details of de Ligt, Laimer and Tel are currently the top priority,” emphasized the FCB insider.
It will be exciting to see whether the name Felix could play a role again on Säbener Straße if Bayern sell Robert Lewandowski in the summer.
