Joan Didion: Nobody wants to buy your apartment – culture

One would have loved to hear the realtors talk before they put Joan Didion’s New York apartment on the market in January. Wasn’t that the safest deal in town, no matter how outrageously much money they asked for? Shouldn’t this spacious apartment find new owners in a very short time? Even within minutes? Or maybe a glorious bidding war would ensue, maybe people would get into a frenzy and bid and bid and bid. One can’t help but imagine the Didion brokers as happy people in the month of January.
