Sat.1 brings show classics back to TV
Among other things, Sat.1 publishes the game show “Jeopardy!” new on.

The retro trend on TV continues. Sat.1 announces that it will bring back four show classics. Including “Jeopardy!” and “heart leaf”.
The retro trend on German TV continues unabated. On Friday, the private broadcaster Sat.1 announced that as part of a four-week event program, it was pulling four show classics out of the mothball. Accordingly, in the coming winter, “Jeopardy!”, “The Pyramid”, “The Gong Show” and “Dating Game – Who should be your sweetheart?” making a comeback as prime-time shows.
“In the cold season, people like to snuggle up on the sofa in front of the TV and wallow in memories,” explains broadcaster Daniel Rosemann (42). At the shows, the viewers could “guess, cheer, laugh and flirt”. The new editions are “slightly modernized” editions compared to the original.
The most famous show is undoubtedly “Jeopardy!” A street sweeper in the USA since the 1960s, the quiz celebrated its German premiere in 1990 on RTL. In Germany, TV legend Frank Elstner (80) moderated the programs from 1994 to 1998. The joke: The candidates do not have to answer any questions, but give the questions to the given answers.
“Herzblatt” will also be reissued
At “Dating Games – Who should be your sweetheart?” it is obviously a new edition of the original German dating show “Herzblatt”, which was shown on the first between 1987 and 2005. In several rounds, three candidates try to convince a single on the other side of a wall of themselves and their voice. In the end, the winner gets a date and sees the other person behind the wall for the first time.
“The Pyramid” was broadcast for the first time in 1979 with Dieter Thomas Heck (1937-2018) as moderator. 1994 was the end. The show got a new edition in 2012, but was canceled after a few weeks. Different versions of “The Gong Show” have already been broadcast on several channels. The goal: Everyone gets the chance to demonstrate their skills in front of a jury. However, a gong often ends the project abruptly.
