Jean Dieuzaide is exhibited in large format in the streets

As a preamble to a major retrospective exhibition at the Couvent des Jacobins, from December 4, 2021 to March 6, 2022, the Toulouse town hall is offering from Friday a photographic tour in town and online on Toulouse photographer Jean Dieuzaide.

On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, this open-air exhibition, called “Dieuzaide dans la ville”, follows an itinerary highlighting places that are emblematic of the artist’s life and work.

About thirty photos in the streets

If he has photographed many countries and regions around the world, the photographer is also very interested in the Pink City and its inhabitants. Produced by the Municipal Archives, the route guides visitors in the artist’s footsteps, virtually via this site.

Culture is also in the streets of the city where around thirty large-format photographic prints are installed in ten different sites: the arcades of the Capitol, the Victor Hugo market, Jean-Jaurès (ex-UGC), Halle aux grains, museum des Augustins, 2 rue Joutx-Aigues, Water tower, Les Jacobins, the Carmelite market and ENSEIIHT.

Toulouse at night, the destruction of the Carmelite market or even the first Music Festival on the Place du Capitole, the clichés plunge the visitor into the heritage and history of the city. The captions of the photos are accessible from QR codes.
