Smiles that don’t please everyone. While the Covid-19 is experiencing, with the arrival of autumn, a “small push in France”, worried the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, a viral publication on Facebook denounces the non-compliance with the measures sanitary facilities among members of the presidential majority.
Shared several thousand times so far, the post – accompanied by the ironic comment “here are the barrier gestures of those who impose the pass on us” – shows a photo where we see the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, surrounded by LREM executives during a rather festive meal.
Around the table, loaded with plates and drinks, the outfits are relaxed and the faces happy. Among the guests, tight against each other, we recognize the head of government, therefore, but also Mickael Nogal (deputy for Haute-Garonne), Stanislas Guerini (general delegate of LREM and deputy for Paris), Roland Lescure (deputy of French from North America), Laëtitia Avia (Member of Parliament for Paris), or Marie Guévenoux (Deputy General Delegate of the party and Member of Parliament for Essonne).

To verify this, we sought to know on what occasion the controversial snapshot was taken. When contacted, LREM did not take long to respond: “It’s simple, this photo was taken during the summer campus of the majority. »Which was held on October 2 and 3 in Avignon (Vaucluse). That weekend, LREM executives and activists gathered to launch the presidential campaign. And 20 minutes was there, by the way (read here). At LREM, it is specified that it is “the evening of Saturday, at which the Prime Minister was present, certainly around 9 pm, because he arrived on site at 8 pm”.
Regarding the apparent non-compliance with barrier gestures, the entourage of Jean Castex indicates that the “campus” was “subject to sanitary pass”. Information confirmed to LREM, where it is emphasized that “the meal took place outside, and not in an enclosed space. It is true that no one wears the mask. But I don’t know if you’ve tried, but it’s hard to do it while eating ”.
