January sales: hesitant beginnings

The sales start today for a period of 4 weeks. For this first day, there were many customers in the shopping streets, looking for better deals in this inflationary context. In Pointe-à-Pitre, however, many stores have not played the game.

After the madness of the Christmas shopping period, the respite was only short-lived in Guadeloupean businesses. Low prices displayed, busy streets: the sales are well underway. But on closer inspection, this is not the case in all businesses. For many : no promotion is visible in the window.

Not enough to discourage customers who are bargain hunters.

There I make sure to do all the shopping but there I have already found a good pair of pants.

I don’t come here often, it makes me happy to be here, I saw that today the prices were on sale so we said we’ll come.

A simple little pair of sneakers, nothing too fancy, it’s just a necessity, the mas starts tomorrow.

Although we will still have to wait until February to take stock, for traders, the sales period remains a good operation because it is one of the highlights of the year.
