Actress Jane Fonda is not the youngest anymore. At the age of 84, she is not afraid of a possible imminent death.

Two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda turns 85 in December. In a new interview, the actress talks about, among other things, the fact that she is well aware of her old age – and thus also of the fact that she may not have too many years left in the world.

“I’m very aware that I’m closer to death and it doesn’t really bother me,” says Fonda on the CBS show “Sunday Morning”.. What bothers her, on the other hand, is that she practically no longer lives in her own body from the head down, as she jokes. “My knees are not mine, my hips are not mine, my shoulders are not mine.”

But who cares about something like that when you’re still alive and can still work in old age. The fact that she can no longer run, ski or cycle leaves her cold. “You know, you can be really old by 60 and you can be really young by 85,” summarizes Fonda.

That’s why Jane Fonda doesn’t drink alcohol

From April 29, the last new episodes of her Netflix series “Grace and Frankie” can be seen, in which she plays alongside Lily Tomlin (82). Unlike her character Grace, Fonda has sworn off alcohol entirely. The 84-year-old hangs “at half-staff” the next day if she drinks even one martini in the evening. It wasn’t like that for her when she was younger, but alcohol has other effects in old age. She lets it be known that she is basically doing quite well, but since she will only experience a limited number of new mornings, she wants to be able to enjoy them.
