A last goodbye. The funeral of Jane Birkin, who died on Sunday, is to take place Monday at the Saint-Roch church in Paris, and a giant screen will be installed to allow the crowd to attend, the artist’s entourage told AFP on Thursday.
The ceremony must be held from 10:00 a.m., and access to this church located in the 1st arrondissement will be “reserved for family and friends”, this source told AFP.
“However, to involve the general public, the ceremony will be broadcast live on a giant screen at the corner of rue Saint-Honoré and rue des Pyramides,” she added.
Jane Birkin, 76, was found lifeless late Sunday morning at her Parisian home by her life assistant.
Many tributes have been paid to the singer and actress. Her daughters, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon, hailed the “fierce battle against disease” led by their mother.
