After a pandemic break of almost four years, Jan Böhmermann returns with “Let yourself be monitored” – and is running in prime time for the first time.

Returns after a break of almost four years Jan Böhmermann (42) with “Let yourself be monitored”. On September 20, 2023 the time has come. According to the press release, ZDF broadcasts the program at 8:15 p.m. The “Neo Magazin Royale” offshoot can thus be seen in prime time for the first time. The show is available in the ZDF media library at 6 p.m.

Dependent on Studio Audience: Pandemic Pause for “Get Monitored”

In November 2019, “Let yourself be monitored” ran for the fourth and last time on ZDF. From 2020, the corona pandemic thwarted Jan Böhmermann and his team. After all, the show lives heavily on the studio audience.

On the show, Jan Böhmermann reveals viewers’ social media sins, from embarrassing TikTok videos to questionable comments on Facebook. Before the recording, the makers screen the profiles of the audience, who more or less know what they are getting into.

“Watch what you do on the Internet! Because we see everything – and are absolutely unscrupulous in realizing our insidious plan to produce the craziest entertainment show on German television,” quotes ZDF Jan Böhmermann. The revelations are acted out in the studio with prominent guests and in various games and formats.

Spin-off of “Neo Magazin Royale”

“Let yourself be monitored” emerged from “PRISM is a Dancer”. The column, which alludes to the NSA spy program PRISM, runs regularly in “Neo Magazin Royale”. Since 2017, individual special episodes of the magazine have been running on ZDFneo under this title. In April 2018, the first offshoot of the show went on the air on the parent station ZDF, followed by three more editions.
