SEXUAL VIOLENCE – The Oscar-winning actor is caught by American justice. Eric Marlon Bishop, better known by his actor name Jamie Foxx, is the subject of a sexual assault complaint filed in New York State Supreme Court for events that allegedly occurred in 2015.
The case comes the day before the expiration of a New York State law that allows victims of sexual violence to file civil complaints for prescribed facts.
The 55-year-old actor, seen on screen in Django Unchained, Ray Or Collateral, is accused of having sexually assaulted the complainant during a party in Manhattan in August 2015. The events allegedly took place on the roof terrace of a bar-restaurant while the complainant and a friend were seated near the actor.
After an exchange to obtain a photo, Jamie Foxx was allegedly insistent towards the woman who said she had been attacked. After leading her aside, he allegedly tried to feel her breasts under her clothes. Jamie Foxx then allegedly slipped his hands down the complainant’s pants, “taken off guard » according to the words used by the American magazine Varietyto ask “ his fingers on and in her vagina and anus ”, according to the details of the complaint.
A security agent would also have witnessed the scene, but would not have intervened. It was ultimately the complainant’s friend who arrived to get her out of this situation.
The bar-restaurant targeted by justice
Jamie Foxx’s representatives have not yet commented on the matter. On the victim’s side, compensation has already been requested, taking into account the ” pain, suffering, emotional distress, anxiety and humiliation » felt. The facts reportedly caused pain which forced the woman to seek medical attention.
The Catch NYC bar-restaurant is also in the sights of New York justice. Those in charge of the establishment – the manager was with Jamie Foxx just before the attack – were not sufficiently vigilant and therefore permitted the attack.
For Jamie Foxx, this revelation still risks slowing down his return in front of the cameras. This year he suffered a serious health problem, the details of which have not been revealed, which led to his hospitalization in April. In July, however, he indicated that he was “ on the way back “.
