James Webb Space Telescope reaches its final position

Now the mirrors of the telescope, which costs around 8.8 billion euros, still have to be precisely aligned, as NASA announced. In addition, the infrared detectors are to be cooled to working temperature by June.

The space telescope is a joint project of NASA, the European ESA and the Canadian space agency. It should provide insights into the early period after the Big Bang around 13.8 billion years ago.
