Jada Pinkett Smith has been defended by her husband over a joke gone wrong. Will Smith resorted to fisticuffs. She herself is said to have perceived his behavior as an overreaction.
While everyone is talking about the Oscar slap and the dispute between Will Smith and Chris Rock, the victim, Jada Pinkett Smith, is largely silent. Shortly after the event, she posted a saying that “it’s time to heal.” Since then, the talk show host has been quiet. Despite everything, she is said to have a clear stance on Will Smith’s violent act.
The American tabloid magazine “US Magazine” spoke to an acquaintance of the Smith family and found out what Jada Pinkett Smith’s attitude to the Oscar scandal should look like. The source said: “It was an act in the heat of the moment. The couple agree he overreacted.” According to the source, the “Red Table Talk” host didn’t want her husband to get into a conflict over her. “She’s not one of those women who needs to be protected. He didn’t need to do what he did, she didn’t need to be protected. She’s not a wallflower,” the source shared. “She is a strong woman and she can fight her own battles. But she will stand by him.”
The Smiths protect their family at all costs
The couple have been married since 1997 and have publicly stated that they have an open marriage. However, her family bond with her two children, Jaden and Willow, is very strong. “They protect their family. Everything revolves around the family and their children. They have done everything possible to build this life,” says the acquaintance.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head joke at the Oscars prompted Will Smith to snap. Chris Rock is said not to have researched in advance of the show why Will Smith’s wife is bald and that this fact is based on the disease circular hair loss. Although the 50-year-old only publicly revealed her illness on social media a few months before the show: “From this point I can only laugh. You all know that I struggle with alopecia and one day you will see it Line right here,” she said of her balding on Instagram in December 2021. “Now it’s getting a little bit harder for me to hide it, so I thought I’d just share it so y’all don’t ask questions – but you know, mom will put some rhinestones on it and I’ll get a little crown do.”
Earlier this year, Pinkett Smith gushed about her spouse’s support of her decision to shave her head.
