“It’s your war, Mr. Putin!”: Janina Elkin on the Ukraine war (video)

See in the video: “It’s your war, Mr. Putin” – actress Janina Elkin about the war in her homeland.

And here is the text: Привіт всім, Pryvit vsim,
vsem privet, vsem privet,
hello everyone, that was ukrainian, russian and german,
My name is Janina Elkin.
I was born in Kyiv, today’s capital of Ukraine.
In the last few days, like so many of you, I have felt deeply moved and stunned.
When I was 4 years old, my family moved to Moscow for a while to escape the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster.
I know both countries, Ukraine and Russia. I have friends, relatives and colleagues in both, and I know: NONE of them want this war!
It’s your war, Mr. Putin.
For me it makes no difference to be Ukrainian or Russian.
We are all the same: Europeans, earthlings, but above all people who want to live in peace.
I am very fortunate to live in Berlin with my children, but my friend from Kyiv writes me that she and her son know that they will soon be bombed and they hope that residential areas will be spared.
These days we see the Brandenburg Gate illuminated in blue and yellow.
That is beautiful!
But we must do more!
Therefore my appeal is: Stand up, against the war!
We must now not only talk resolutely, but also act resolutely to stand up to a power-hungry Russian President in order to be able to live together in peace here in Europe.
There is only ONE answer to this war and that is PEACE!
Thank you for listening!
Бувай buvay,
poka poka,
Good bye!
