It is for this reason, as already leaked yesterday evening via Le Parisien, that a complaint will indeed be filed against the Minister of the Interior by the Benzema clan. “File a complaint, yes. I’m thinking about this law on fake news. This is false information and we do not do that lightly when we are Minister of the Interior,” explains Vigier “perhaps for public insult” rather than for defamation because the remarks were made “in a derogatory manner” .
