Italy: Catholic Orders Hid Thousands of Jews from Nazis – Politics

An important document on the history of the persecution of the Jews was found in an archive in Rome: It documents how many people found refuge in church houses during the German occupation until 1944.

The Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome reports a sensational find. In his archive, researchers have discovered previously unpublished documentation on people who sought refuge from Nazi persecution in church houses in Rome – especially Jews.
