Lollobrigida, who had been in office for less than a month, threw himself into the fight against the threat to Italian cattle posed by scientists working on the production of cultured meat. A year later, he has reached his goal: his law banning the production, import and marketing of laboratory meat has cleared the last parliamentary hurdle. The minister from the right-wing populist ruling party Fratelli d’Italia boasts that Italy has thus advanced to the top of the world as a pioneer.
