The Israeli army attacked targets in the Gaza Strip on Sunday after rockets fell off Tel Aviv. Tanks attacked Hamas targets.
In response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army attacked targets of the Palestinian organization Hamas in the coastal strip on Sunday night. These include a missile factory and military posts that are used for terrorist activities, the army said on Twitter.
On Saturday morning, the army reported that two rockets from the Gaza Strip had landed in the sea off the Tel Aviv area. Initially, nothing was known about possible victims.
Tanks fired at positions on the border with Israel
The Jerusalem Post reported that tanks had also fired at Hamas positions along the border with the Gaza Strip. “The terrorist organization Hamas is responsible for the events in the Gaza Strip and bears the consequences of the terrorist acts in the Gaza Strip,” the newspaper quoted the army as saying.
The Palestinian organization Hamas, ruling in the Gaza Strip, is classified as a terrorist organization by Israel, the USA and the EU. Israel engaged in an eleven-day armed conflict with Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip in May. Egypt eventually brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that went into effect on May 21. It has remained relatively quiet since then.
