After more than one and a half years of entry ban, individual tourists may come back to Israel from November 1st subject to certain conditions. The country had practically closed itself off after the pandemic began. Foreigners were only allowed to enter in exceptional cases, as were travel groups. Entry permits for individual tourists have been announced several times, but have been postponed again and again.
Precise guidelines now apply to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. According to the Ministry of Health, foreigners are allowed to enter if they have received two doses of the vaccine from the manufacturers Pfizer / Biontech, Moderna, Astrazeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm or the Serum Institute of India and if at least 14 days have passed since the second dose. After a single vaccination dose of the corona vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, an interval of 14 days is also necessary. These time windows also apply after a booster vaccination. It is also crucial that no more than 180 days have passed since the second vaccination or at Johnson & Johnson since the individual vaccination before leaving Israel – or there is a booster vaccination. In addition, those who have recovered can enter the country if they have received at least one dose of a corona vaccine that has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). Those who have recovered may also enter if at least eleven days have passed since a positive test – but no more than 190 days upon departure.
