The Emirate of Qatar has built a media empire with Al Jazeera: The network extends across 95 countries, employing a total of over 3,000 people. And the range is also enormous. The station is received in 150 countries and regions and reaches millions of viewers worldwide via social media. But its audience in one of its key reporting areas may soon no longer be able to receive news from Qatar – that of Israel and the Palestinian territories.
