“Anatomy of a genocide”: Israel calls UN expert’s report a disgrace
An expert has prepared a report on the Gaza war on behalf of the UN. The title: “Anatomy of a Genocide.” Israel speaks of an “obscene reversal of reality.”
Expert accuses Israel of “ethnic cleansing” between 1947 and 1949
The UN special rapporteur went on to write that genocide had always been “an inevitable part of the formation of Israel” and claimed that “practices leading to the mass ethnic cleansing of the non-Jewish population of Palestine took place in the years 1947-1949.” The original report “Anatomy of a Genocide,” which was prepared on behalf of the Human Rights Council, the highest human rights body of the United Nations, was not initially available. The Italian lawyer is the UN Human Rights Council’s rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Israeli government has long accused it of being biased in favor of the Palestinians.

Israel’s mission to the UN said Albanese aimed to tell a story in which the Islamist Hamas, its abuse of civilians and civilian infrastructure and its utter brutality simply disappears. The report made it clear that the Special Rapporteur’s conclusion was that Israel was committing genocide. She then tried to “support her distorted and politically motivated views with weak arguments and justifications.” It is clear from her previous statements before and after the October 7 massacre that, under the guise of the UN, she is continuing her campaign to delegitimize the creation and existence of the State of Israel.
Albanese’s report goes on to say that Israel’s actions show patterns of violence. After five months of military operations, Israel destroyed Gaza. Among other things, more than 30,000 Palestinians were killed, 70 percent of residential areas were destroyed and 80 percent of the population were forcibly displaced.
